The type of connection used for the dT Business GPON Fibre is known as a Garanteed Bandwidth connection. It will use the existing fibre infrastructure for connectivity but the data traffic is guaranteed and will not be affected by other users.
The dT Business GPON Fibre has a guaranteed uptime of 98%.
No. DIA’s are also offered by Direct Telecom but a DIA consists of the provisioning of a completely independent and isolated Fibre connection to guarantee a completely dedicated fibre connection. In many cases, installing a DIA can require roadworks, municipal permissions and many weeks of work before they get installed. This is also why DIA’s are typically much more expensive. If your business requires mission critical connectivity with faster SLA’s and more guarantees, then DIA’s are the best option. Otherwise, dT Business GPON Fibres are a fantastic cost effective alternative.
With the dT Business GPON Fibre connections, there are no backup options that are integrated into the system. It is however possible to order a backup Fibre line with Direct Telecom using a different backbone provider to reduce the chances of downtime (different network with different traffic routing). A backup Fibre line can also have a Static IP if required. It is also possible for us to arrange for a Starlink (SpaceX) connection to serve as a backup service.

The dT Business GPON Fibres operate on a network that has NO flow aggregators, guaranteeing practically 100% of the data flow. The performance is not linked to network congestion (speed does not change depending on the occupancy rate of the network at the time of use).
As can be seen in the table of prices, you can choose if you wish for the contract to be 12, 24 or 36 months. The prices vary depending on the contract term selected. We consider the contract validity date to commence the day the connection installed and is operational.
Yes, there is a 149€ Setup Fee which is a one time payment. Should the installation of the service not be carried out by ourselves or by our engineering partners then this fee is refundable. It is not refunded if the inability to install the service is caused by the client.
(a) Compensation for non-compliance with service availability guarantees will begin to apply after 24 hours of service interruption, with the partial daily rates accumulating and/or being added together for such compensation.
(b) The calculation of the compensation will be carried out taking into account the period during which the client did not receive the service, proportionally to the cost that would have been accrued if the service interruption had not occurred.
Example:
• Your monthly service fee = €100.
• The service was down for 5 days.
• Assume the month has 30 days.
Step 1:
Calculate the daily cost:
• €100 ÷ 30 days = €3.33 per day.
Step 2:
Multiply by the number of days without service:
• 5 days × €3.33 = €16.65 compensation.
dT Business GPON Fibre clients will be provided with an email address to report any issues 24/7. Clients will have a “Circuit ID” number to be used for submitting a support ticket. At the NOC (Network Operations Center), staff are monitoring all connections and are likely to detect any outages even before clients notice.
If the client terminates the Contract early, or if Direct Telecom terminates the Contract with cause due to a breach by the client, the client shall indemnify Direct Telecom in an amount equivalent to one hundred percent (100%) of the total amounts payable by the client until
the termination date of the Contract.
